Which is The Most Secure Cell Phone iphone or Blackberry

First, I've noticed many novice Apple users believe the iPhone is perfectly secure, either because they haven't been hacked themselves or they have never heard of an iPhone (or other Apple products) being hacked. There is a name for this type of rhetorical fallacy; it's called an “Argument from Ignorance”. If a given novice doesn't think they've been hacked, that does NOT mean they haven't been hacked. If a novice user — who has probably never read a single CERT security advisory mind you — is unaware of any security exploits on Apple products, that also does NOT mean they don't exist.

In fact there were some 46 by my count unpatched iPhone security holes at the time iOS 9 was released. There have been hundreds and hundreds of security exploits in the iPhone, iPad and iMac over the years. So, please for the love of Jobs, stop saying that Apple has a perfect security record.

As for Blackberry's record as the most secure platform, honestly, I think the main reason is that Blackberry makes a texting device with no camera or microphone — so it can't be used as a real phone. That has the advantage that if you are having a private meeting with a VIP and no one in the room has a regular smartphone on their person, just a Blackberry texting device, there is no chance that a hacked device, even a hacked Blackberry, might compromise the content of the meeting.

In the Android camp, a newcomer is the Blackphone 2, which runs a distro of Android designed with a number of high security features, including hardened software and end-to-end encryption. I personally haven't done a full evaluation of the device, but it's the main flagship product on the market which has made security its primary selling point.

DISCLAIMER: I don’t currently have any financial interest in any cell phone manufacturer, including those mentioned above.
